Refractory Fire Brick

Refractory

What is refractory fire brick?

Refractory bricks are designed to withstand high temperatures without melting or breaking down.

They are used in industries where conventional construction materials would not survive, such as in furnaces, kilns, and incinerators. Refractory bricks are resistant to thermal shock, erosion, and chemical attack. They are made from refractory materials like clay, alumina, silica, and magnesia, which are heated to create a hard and durable material. And their specific composition depends on the intended application and temperature range.

How to make bricks?

Refractory brick production process, crushing-mixing-forming-drying-firing-quality inspection.

Crushing

Select different solid raw materials for crushing according to different bricks.

Mixing

Mix the pulverized raw materials in proportion, add the binder and stir evenly.

Shaping

The brick body is formed by the vibration method, extrusion method, ramming method, isostatic pressing moulding, melting casting moulding, grouting moulding and other methods.

Drying

The purpose of drying is to remove the moisture in the brick body and harden the organic binder or inorganic binder, which can effectively improve the bonding strength of the brick body.

Firing

Place the bricks on the push plate, push them into the kiln, and use different temperatures for firing according to different bricks.

Inspecting

After firing and forming, check the integrity, hardness, size, etc. of the bricks to ensure the quality of the goods.

Product Testing Equipment

There are various tests that are commonly used to evaluate the quality of refractory materials. Here are some of the most important ones

This test is performed to determine the chemical composition of the material, including the presence of impurities.

The bulk density of a refractory material is the mass per unit volume. This test is important to ensure that the material has the required strength and durability.

Porosity is the percentage of voids in the material. This test helps to ensure that the refractory material is able to withstand high temperatures without cracking or deteriorating.

This test measures the rate at which heat is transferred through the material. It is important to ensure that the material is able to maintain its insulating properties at high temperatures.

This test measures the ability of the material to bend without breaking. It is important to ensure that the material is able to withstand the forces that may be present in the environment.

This test measures the amount that a material expands when exposed to high temperatures. It is important to ensure that the material is able to expand and contract without cracking or breaking.

This test measures the ability of the material to withstand compression. It is important to ensure that the material is able to withstand the weight of the surrounding structure.

This test measures the ability of the material to withstand wear and tear. It is important to ensure that the material is able to withstand the abrasive forces that may be present in the environment.

This test measures the ability of the material to resist chemical attack. It is important to ensure that the material is able to withstand exposure to corrosive substances.

Refractory materials, such as steel, cement, and glass-making, are used in high-temperature industrial processes. They provide insulation, chemical resistance, and durability against high temperatures and harsh chemicals. Refractories are also used in kilns, furnaces, reactors, and incinerators. Additionally, they are used in constructing fireplaces, wood stoves, and pizza ovens.
