Product Description

Magnesia brick, also known as magnesite brick or magnesium oxide brick, is a type of refractory brick made primarily of magnesia (MgO). Magnesia is a highly refractory material with a high melting point and excellent thermal shock resistance. Magnesia bricks are made by firing magnesia at high temperatures and then shaping it into the desired form.

Magnesia bricks are used in high-temperature industrial applications that require excellent thermal shock resistance. They are commonly used in the steelmaking industry, cement production, glassmaking, and petrochemical industry. They are also used in power generation plants, incinerators, and other high-temperature equipment used for waste disposal.

Product Applications

  • Steel-making industry: Magnesia bricks are commonly used in the steel-making industry for the lining of furnaces, ladles, and tundishes due to their resistance to high temperatures and corrosive slags.
  • Cement industry: Magnesia bricks are used in the cement industry for the lining of rotary kilns, which are used to produce cement clinker.
  • Glass industry: Magnesia bricks are used in the glass industry for the lining of glass tanks and melting furnaces, where they provide resistance to the highly corrosive nature of the glass-making process.
  • Incineration industry: Magnesia bricks are used in the incineration industry for the lining of incinerators, where they provide resistance to the high temperatures and corrosive by-products produced during the incineration process.

Product Advantages

  • High refractoriness: Magnesia bricks have a very high melting point, which makes them ideal for use in high-temperature applications.
  • High corrosion resistance: Magnesia bricks are highly resistant to corrosion from basic and acidic slags, making them ideal for use in furnaces that produce highly corrosive by-products.
  • Good thermal shock resistance: Magnesia bricks have a low coefficient of thermal expansion, which makes them highly resistant to thermal shock.
  • Low thermal conductivity: Magnesia bricks have a low thermal conductivity, which makes them highly effective in insulating against high temperatures.
